Couple Random Things

Okay - it's late, and so I tend to ramble! Beware!
First - since about the beginning of this month, I have totally been neglecting my personal blog, so I think in the next couple days, you won't see much of me here - I will be updating my family and friends (that think I have gone into hiding - or haven't come back from vacation) on what our family has been up to!
Second - I just got some scrap pages in the mail that I ordered from "Scrapbooks Please". They were running a special and you could get the value matte prints in 12 x 12 size for only 99 cents each! Wow - my local photo studio/photo printing place charges $7 per 12 x 12 sheet.
So - being Dutch - I decided to try it.
I am totally thrilled with the results. For the money I spent, they are great. I will definitely wait until they have another sale and order from them again. (you can sign up online and get email notifications when they have sales!) For those of you wondering, they don't have any white edge around the page and look great!
I will try to take a pic of one to show you!

Liberty

Here is another layout I made today. I saw a challenge to incorporate this part of the Declaration of Independence into your layout. It is so not my normal way to journal, but I thought it might be fun. We were on vacation last week and I took this picture. The wind was blowing the flag, and it happened to get in the picture - and the kids were watching it. What a fun picture that reminds me of freedom and Liberty!

I used kits from Scraps of Ellay "Stars and Stripes" and The Latest Scoop, Too "Count My Lucky Stars" (both designers at Stuff to Scrap)

Summer Surprise Kit

I am back from a great vacation, and have been busy scrapping! (along with catching up on laundry and housework - LOL!)
Today I have been scrapping with a great kit from JW DigiScraps called Summer Surprise.
I also used a template from Kate Designs.

File It (1) Ella Design Templates

I had the opportunity to scrap with some new templates by Ella Design called "File It (1)".
Here is the first layout I made with one of the templates. This one caught my eye because I could use lots of photos. The kit I used for this layout is "Count My Lucky Stars" by The Latest Scoop, Too.

Here is a preview of the template pack! Can't wait to show you another layout using these!
Image in linked to Ella's store at MyScrapShop where you can get these templates to make your own layouts!

Be sure to check back for more layouts made by me using Ella's templates! I am loving them! They come with shadows already on the templates - so you don't even have to mess with that!

Kitty in my Sketchbook Garden mini kit

Kitty in My Sketchbook Garden is the latest kit by ad77design.
It is bright orange and green! Such fun summer colors. You can get it here at MLAS.
Ohhh! - if you go to Lucie's blog - she has an add on freebie to this fun kit and a challenge where you can win this kit!

My first layout is called Lazy Days.

Journaling reads: On our days off from work and daycare, we love to put sweats on and lounge around. We play with legos and build things. You love to see who can build the tallest tower. We also like to watch movies. Your favorites are Dora the Explorer, Diego, and Boz. October 2008

This next layout is done using a template by KateDesigns, and more of ad77design's great kit!

When I saw the colors in this kit, I just knew that I wanted to make a layout with the pictures I took of Allyson in this dress.

I said I would be back with another layout using the Boyswear kit by ad77design. Hurry - this kit is still on sale, but won't be for long.
Sorry you had to wait longer than a day or 2. Hope it was worth the wait! Here is another layout using pics from last year's first fishing trip. I love these pictures!

Come back on Thursday when I have another great ad77design kit to show off!

Boyswear Kit

I am proud to announce that I am a member of Ad77Design Creative Team.
Lucie does such an awesome job with designing digital kits.
Her newest kit is called Boyswear. It is full of blues, greens, and browns. I so much fun making layouts with this kit!
Be sure to check back in a day or 2 for another layout I am working on. It isn't quite finished yet - but you won't want to miss it! It shows how this kit can be used for more than just boy layouts!

Here is a preview of the full kit!
You can get the kit on sale this week in Lucie's store at My Life and Scrap

Photoshop Class

I started a photoshop class yesterday by Jessica Sprague. WOW!
This class is all about how to make your pictures look better using photoshop.
Todays lesson was on brushes. I have seen brushes before, but have never really understood how to use them. Since I am learning photoshop by trial and error on my own, and asking questions on occassion, this class is so worth my time! I can't wait for the rest of the class!
Here is my photo showing the lesson from today! What a difference just a little brush makes!

I can't wait for tomorrow's lesson! Check back to see what else I am learning!
